7 Fun & Easy Ways to Spread the Gospel with Your Kids at Christmastime

1. Christmas Cards

Create your own cards or purchase inspirational cards and then write an encouraging note and a prayer for each person.

Consider sending or hand-delivering cards to soldiers deployed overseas, senior or assisted living centers, hospitals, homeless shelters, etc.

Also, teach your kids to pray daily for everyone who sends your family a card.

2. Caroling

Classic Christmas carols tell of Jesus’s birth and are a great way to help spread the gospel. Gather your kids or a group of families and sing throughout your neighborhood or city.

If you’re worried about your musicality (or lack thereof), you can always play a track with a portable Bluetooth speaker to help you out.

Consider handing out an invite to your church’s Christmas service along with a mini candy cane or offering to pray for them.

3. Candy Canes

Speaking of candy canes…are you familiar with the Candy Cane Poem? Mini candy canes and the poem make great Gospel truths to distribute to everyone you meet.

I encourage you to write a little prayer or scripture on the back as well. You’ll find a FREE PRINTABLE included in my Family ADVENTure Pack.

4. Delivering Baked Goods

Our family bakes delicious holiday treats every year and distributes them to our neighbors.

Last year we took extra treats to the homeless around our city and wished them each a merry Christmas too.

The response has been incredible! Who knew such a small gesture could have such a big impact?!

5. Generosity

Teaching our kids to give generously and consider the needs of others instead of focusing on their own desires helps them model the love of Christ to those hurting around them.

There are endless ways in your community to give to those in need. Choose your favorite cause and give back.

Even simple handmade gifts can have a significant impact on those struggling this holiday season.

6. Service

Acts of service also help our kids learn to be the hands and feet of Jesus to a world in need.

Whether it’s serving at a soup kitchen, spreading holiday cheer for the elderly, those hospitalized, widows, orphans, underprivileged youth, etc. there are countless ways to serve like Jesus and share his love with others.

Get creative and have fun! Serving like Christ is a privilege!

7. Connection

Every day we have the opportunity to be the hands & feet of Jesus through intentional connection with those we encounter.

Invite people to church. Ask to pray for them. Share that Jesus loves them and wants a personal relationship with them.

Offer hope and encouragement. Smile & compliment them. Open a door, share a meal, make a phone call, etc.

In a world growing more and more disconnected, intentional connection is perhaps one of the best ways to share the love and hope of Jesus with a lonely and broken world.

Spreading the Gospel of Jesus with your kids is easier than you think! Choose one idea or try them all! Together we can shine the light of Jesus all around us!
