Our daughter loves art and wanted to learn how to draw. ARTistic Pursuits has a wide variety of products to choose from. Kendra chose to start with Drawing with Graphite Pencils, Art Core I (4th-6th graders). It came with a physical book and digital access to corresponding online art lessons.

How We Used the Product in our Homeschool
The course is set up for you to do two classes per week, about an hour per lesson.Â
My 4th grade daughter worked on this course as part of our weekly homeschool routine. She watched the videos independently and worked on the projects.Â
We read the art history lessons together and discussed the highlighted works and the concepts explored in the lessons (like the use of lines, etc.).Â
Kendra would also work on the projects in her spare time throughout the week. Her time and attention span varied from 20-60 minutes at a time.Â
What I Loved
I loved that there were both video lessons and the book to go through. Both were high quality and easy for a beginner who had never worked with graphite drawings before.Â
I appreciated the clear list of materials to gather at the beginning, and how the book showed multi-step drawings along with samples from other students.Â
Our family especially enjoyed the art appreciation lessons with the full color images, rich history, and clear instructions for creating the various projects.Â
Final Thoughts
This is a fantastic Art Curriculum for students and it’s super easy to incorporate into your homeschool routine. There are also tons of other great courses on their website that I’m looking forward to exploring. I highly recommend this product!
