This is not the typical book I recommend. It is written by a journalist and reads as such. The chapters are more like standalone stories than chapters, but the message throughout the book is clear. Life is hard, and no one is immune to pain. And yet, the human condition weaves a beautiful portrait of a Master Creator, and a superhuman strength that propels us forward when we haven’t got the ability to continue on our own. Regardless of where you are on your own journey of faith, you are sure to be deeply touched by the powerful testimonies throughout this book.

The stories are heart-wrenching, and I shed more than a few tears as I read. I appreciate Lueder’s own candid thoughts throughout the chapters and the way she captured the courage and resilience of each person.

Lueders shares what she refers to as “bending points” at the end of the book to correlate with each chapter. Some inspired me while others left me wishing for something more, something deeper.

Overall, I found the book inspirational and intriguing. Whether you are strong in your faith and looking for a good read, or searching for hope in the depths of suffering, I believe you will benefit from Lueders’ book. I recommend it.
