As a homeschool mom, I am always on the lookout for great books to read aloud. I’m especially fond of beautiful picture books.
Hannah Miles Pierrou has released her debut picture book Farm to Film: An Alphabetical Adventure Told Through the Eyes of an Old Lens. I received a copy to review. All opinions are my own.
My Review
I enjoyed the vintage vibe and creative concept of the book. The pages don’t flow as lyrically as I anticipated, but it does take you on a beautiful journey with watercolors. The theme of the book gives readers a peek into farm life. Every page is filled with animals to delight young readers.
We read it as a family. My eight-year-old daughter enjoyed the book while my six-year-old son got a little distracted. The book has a higher price point, making this a precious gift as the holidays approach for anyone looking for an alphabet book with a distinctive art style.
Overall, this picture book is well-done! I look forward to seeing future creations from the author.

I really enjoy the quiet of living in the country and the care and concern neighbors have for one another.
Reading books to my children is one of my favorite things, but I especially have a weakness for engaging A to Z books. My oldest actually lovingly teases me about it. ☺️ Merry Christmas!
I look for colorful pictures and text that will delight the young and young at heart. I like books that new and classics that never get old. I look for books that will teach and enhance my STEAM Storytimes and books that are just FUN!
What I love about farms is the peace and quiet and solitude. Everywhere is so crowded now days, so it’s nice to see nature and have some quiet and privacy. I also like looking at old photographs, especially old black and white photos. I like to see the simpler times. Picture books that have nice illustrations or photographs with not too much text are my favorite.
