If you know me well, you know I am an avid reader. I love all things fiction and non-fiction. I especially love Biblical fiction because it causes me to pause and really think about what it must have been like for the heroes of our faith. It is easy to pass over a verse in the Bible with little thought to the depths of the hardships each person faced, but I glean so much more when I really dive into their lives.
I also love sharing great resources with you! My hope is that I am able to provide my readers with valuable books to equip, encourage, and empower you to grow your faith. Smith paints beautiful pictures of the lives of some of the most (and least) well-known women in the Bible {Miriam, Rahab, Deborah, Ruth, Naomi, Hannah, Peninnah, Michal, Abigail, Ahinoam, Maacah, Bathsheba}. She seamlessly weaves Biblical fiction and inspirational non-fiction to make this book a must-read for every woman. Smith highlights the major battles each woman encountered, and helps the reader apply Biblical truth in a practical way. Each chapter provides a glimpse into the life of the woman from the Old Testament, a personal application (as if you were sitting with a friend having a discussion), Biblical truths to reflect on, and several study questions to dive deeper. This is an easy read that I highly recommend.

Ruth is the old testament book I find fascinating. Why? Despite all Naomi’s complaining, she stuck with her and encouraged her to seek God’s help for he was the only one to help her. I’ve always loved the book of Ruth. It’s so uplifting and show’s what God can do when things don’t go your way.
I look forward to reading and reviewing the author’s book(s) in print format.
