My daughter, Kendra, just started 4th grade and we’ve been on the hunt for a good language arts curriculum. We needed something that was simple and engaging for her.
I was excited for the chance to test out this new product from The Critical Thinking Co.™.

What I Loved
I loved the open-and-go format of Language Smarts™ Level E. It didn’t require any advanced prep and was easy to dive right into on day one.
I appreciated the layout of the pages. There was the right amount of color to spark interest and keep my daughter engaged, yet also enough white space that it didn’t feel overwhelming.
The sequence is logical and works well regardless of where your child’s at with their language arts experience. Each page provides clear instructions and simple tasks.
I also liked the inclusion of fun activities like the word searches, and that the answers are in the back in case you need them.
And I LOVED The Critical Thinking Co.™‘s generous copyright, which allows you to reproduce the pages for your household so you can make copies for each of your kiddos to use!
Overall, I had no complaints with the product.
How We Used the Product:
We used this product for our 4th grade language arts curriculum with my daughter Kendra. We completed 1-2 pages 4-5 days/week during the six week review period. It took 10-20 minutes to complete each day.
One day we ended up doing several days worth of pages together. Kendra said she loved having the option of focusing on language arts 1 or 2 days of the week so she could spend the other days doing different activities. I appreciated how versatile the book was so we could go at our own pace.
Some of the pages Kendra was able to do independently and then we’d review her answers together. Other pages required a bit more support from me as she learned new concepts.
I found the book easy to incorporate with our homeschool routine.
Final Thoughts…
Language Smarts™ Level E is a great product that we are enjoying utilizing in our homeschool, and plan to continue to use. I recommend checking out their other products as well!
