What Was the Gutenberg Bible?

Do you have a Bible in your home? We have close to 20 copies ourselves (I LOVE reading the Bible in various translations, my husband is a pastor, we frequently pick up copies to give away to others, and our kids have a variety of Bibles from toddler versions to older student versions—in case you were wondering about my Bible OB-SESSION).

But have you ever thought about the history of the Bible? Danika Cooley’s new middle grade book dives into this and more! It is the 2^nd book in the Who, What, Why? Series and today I’m giving you an inside look as well as my review.

About the Book: What Was the Gutenberg Bible?

The book is 91 pages, broken into 7 chapters and ending with a timeline.
Each chapter is loaded with interesting historical information written in story form and includes some black and white illustrations.
It covers topics about the Bible, Johann Gutenberg’s life and invention of the printing press, the road to reformation, and how the Bible came to be translated into other languages.

My Review:

I loved the simplicity of this book. It is packed with interesting information, fun facts, and tons of action to keep your kids (and you) turning pages! It’s perfect for family read alouds or for your middle grade (aged 8-11) student to read on their own. I highly recommend it!
